Professional Experience

Dr. Roxanne Rich graduated summa cum laude from Washington State University with a B.S. in neuroscience, emphasis in pre-medicine, in 2009, and continues to be an avid Cougar fan (although she also enjoys rooting for the Beavers and the Ducks). She then set about exploring the South and the Midwest. She received her MD in 2014 from Meharry Medical College in Nashville, TN, graduating as a member of both the Alpha Omega Alpha and Gold Humanism honor societies, as well as earning a certificate in health policy. She then completed her pediatric residency training in 2017 at Indiana University School of Medicine in Indianapolis, IN.

Personal Life

Dr. Rich grew up in Central Oregon on a dairy farm in Powell Butte. She enjoys spending time with her friends and family (especially her ever-growing number of nieces and nephews), as well as her cat, Layla. She enjoys reading, jokingly debating with her twin sister (who is a veterinarian) who the “real doctor” in the family is, a good movie, as well the multitude of outdoor activities available in Oregon.

Although she left Oregon to pursue her education and medical training, Dr. Rich’s goal has always been to return to her home state to care for children, which she finds to be both an honor and a privilege. She particularly enjoys pediatrics because of the chance to watch children and their families learn and grow together. She is especially passionate about counseling/educating parents about pediatric growth and development, as well as helping children receive appropriate mental health care. She is thrilled to have joined the CHAOS family in 2017 and looks forward to continuing to care for children in Salem and the surrounding areas.
