h3. Infants (less than one year old)
Infant seats need to be rear facing until the child is 20 pounds AND one year old. This better protects children during high speed head on collisions.
While there has been no change in the law, recently the American Academy of Pediatrics updated recommendations that all children whould remain rear facing until age two. This is due to evidence that children have 75% better chance of surviving crash in that position. To learn more visit AAP Car Seat Information page.
