h2. What is it? (quoted from form)

Supplemental Educational Services (SES) is additional instruction designed to increase the academic achievement of students who attend a school that is in its second or more years of improvement, corrective action, or restructuring. If eligible, your child will receive additional instruction in the areas of: Reading/language Arts, mathematics or English Language Development. You and you child will be able to meet and choose a tutoring provider at the beginning of the school year, or if your child has received services in the past, you may elect to keep the same provider.

SES is high quality, research-based, and specifically designed to increase student academic achievement. There are income eligibility requirements. Your child will receive instruction from a tutoring provider that has been approved by the Oregon Department of Education. If more students apply than money is available, then priority will be based on financial and academic need. There will be several providers to choose from next school year. At a later date, a letter will be sent inviting you to a Parent-Provider meeting which will be scheduled for August and/or September.
