Deadly children’s products

Despite recalls and warning, consumers continue to use products that could cause serious injury or death. The following items are especially hazardous to children:
  • old cribs that can entrap, strangle or suffocate children;
  • hood and neck drawstrings on kids’ jackets and sweatshirts that can get caught and strangle children;
  • old window blinds with pull cords and inner cords that can form a loop and cause strangulation;
  • disposable and novelty lighters — especially those that are not child-resistant.
