Oregon Health Plan – picking an insurance plan
July 30, 2010 by Kenneth Carlson, MD
Our office does not contract with CareOregon. If your child is on the Oregon Health Plan and you wish to bring your child to our clinic make sure you call OHP Client Services at 1-800-273-0557 to request your child be assigned to Marion Polk Community Health Plan
While we want to provide your child the healthcare they require, you may need to utilize other resources accepting CareOregon if your plan is changed to CareOregon. Please discuss with your case worker what other options you can utilize while you wait for your plan to change, and are able to schedule with us once again.

H1N1 vaccine info from health department
October 28, 2009 by Kenneth Carlson, MD
The Oregon State Health Department released a newsletter update this week with a description of the current situation. It provides a nice summary of where things are at right now. Our clinic has not yet received more doses for H1N1 Influenza. We will post updates as soon as we do.
We realize that demand will continue to exceed supply of the vaccine so we are looking to improve how we distribute vaccine at our walk-in clinics. We still believe that walk-in clinic on a first come-first serve basis is the quickest way to distribute vaccine. To decrease frustration and waiting time we will distribute tickets as people arrive with number matched to available vaccine that day. We hope this will decrease frustration and waiting times for our patients.
Please continue to use the comment section on our news posts, contact form and our secure portal for continued communication and feedback to us.

Car Seat Assistance Program
May 14, 2008 by Kenneth Carlson, MD
If you need help to purchase a car seat there are several agencies supporting a program to get you a car set at low cost. The program is administered by Safe Kids here in Salem. Our office is not directly involved in the program but do support its efforts to make car seats available to families. This is also an excellent program to check if you are installing it correctly. It is very common for the seat to not be installed in the absolute correct way. For general information check out our page on safety seats. Read more
