Study finds no link with vaccine preservative and autism

The New York Times is quoting a recent study in California that monitored the rate of autism before and after the removal of thimerisol from childhood vaccines. The rate continued to increase well after the preservative was removed.

While no direct medical links with the preservative have ever been found the decision was made to remove from vaccines over five years ago. No cause for autism is now known but research continues to look into genetic and environmental factors.
